In the last decade a new system of community wealth building has begun to emerge as a trend in both urban and rural parts of the country. It’s focused on people instead of buildings, with a blend of public, private, civic and community leadership and capital. This bottom up approach involves building skills, growing entrepreneurship, increasing incomes and building assets.
The GIV Fellowship is a 15-week foundation internship program. Youth fellows split their time between learning about philanthropy as a cohort and being embedded in host foundations to gain hands-on experience in the sector.
