What is the role of foundations in Opportunity Zones?
Colorado Rural Opportunity Zones: A Generational Opportunity for Rural Colorado
December 13, 2018
2:00 – 3:15 p.m.
The new federal tax law created “Opportunity Zones,” which will offer significant incentives for those who make long-term investments in rural and low-income urban areas. Colorado alone has 126 of these zones, with the majority located outside of the Front Range metro areas.
Join our Colorado Rural Funders Learning Network for a funder webinar to learn more about Opportunity Zones in rural areas of Colorado.
We’ll be discussing:
- What drove the Opportunity Zone legislation and how Colorado selected its zones;
- Rural investment opportunities in energy, businesses, real estate;
- How foundations can be involved by providing funding for local investment prospectuses and expert investment staff, supporting community engagement and organizing, and providing program-related and mission-related investments.
