Philanthropic Support for Nonpartisan Voter Engagement

Thursday, May 30, 2024, 10:00 - 11:15 AM

Please join us to investigate how philanthropy can strengthen democracy by supporting nonpartisan voter engagement.

We’ll explore:

  • What is included in “voter engagement;”
  • The rules and restrictions on public and private foundation support;
  • The status and efforts on full voter engagement in Colorado;
  • Colorado foundation experience supporting this work

The health of representative democracy is dependent on full voter participation. This is the reason Philanthropy Colorado added Democracy and Civic Engagement to our Public Policy Priorities in 2024.

Nonprofit Vote, which includes the Philanthropy for Voter Engagement project, and Civic Nation, who manages the All In Campus Democracy Challenge and our own Colorado Campus Voting Challenge in partnership with Secretary of State Griswold, will share their expertise. We’ll also be joined by funders, including Alison Friedman Phillips, Director of Programs, Policy & Advocacy at The Women’s Foundation of Colorado.
