Broadband Funder Interest Group Meeting

Thursday, December 17, 2020, 1:00 - 2:00 PM

This meeting is for the Philanthropy Colorado Broadband Interest Group. Our goal is to gain action-oriented understanding of the role philanthropy can play in supporting broadband access and adoption, specifically in rural Colorado. This group will evaluate the purpose and need for this group as it goes along.

In this December session, Teresa Ferguson with the Colorado Broadband Office of the Office of Information Technology will discuss 1) key action areas as well as where community support is needed for the recently released Governor's Broadband Initiatives Report and 2) special session updates on funds and actions to expand broadband to those who still lack this vital service. Additional state agency leaders working on broadband will join us, including Greg Winkler with Department of Local Affairs Broadband Program and DeLilah Collins with Colorado Department of Education's Connecting Colorado Students Grant Program to answer questions on issues such as affordability, local advocates/champions and the latest efforts to get more students connected.

There are also key roles for philanthropy in this space. This session will be an opportunity for funders to ask questions and share information on plans for 2021. Also, for us to clarify the information and resources required by funders to advance your philanthropic learning and action in broadband. For more information, please contact Amy Swiatek.
