Where: Washington, DC

Foundations on the Hill (FOTH) is an annual convening that brings together foundation leaders from across the country for meetings with Congress about key issues of importance to foundations and philanthropy. FOTH is presented by United Philanthropy Forum in partnership with the Alliance for Charitable Reform and the Council on Foundations.

The overall purpose of Foundations on the Hill is to:

  • Inform and educate Congress about philanthropy
  • Create visibility for foundations and philanthropy on Capitol Hill
  • Advocate on issues affecting foundations
  • Encourage Congress to view foundations as resources on key public policy issues

Nowhere in the laws of man or nature does it say, “Thou shalt approve grant dockets only once a year” or, “The full Board is required to approve additional disbursements'”or “Thou must complete an evaluation report before additional funds may be disbursed or grant renewals approved.”
